Worthy of Love LA and the Little Tokyo Business Association partners annually to host a birthday bash for "unhoused" children in DTLA. Skid Row-kyo volunteers and Little Tokyo Dance Club members help with operations, logistics, entertainment and people power
This is what WE DO... Sometimes our Skid Row-kyo Mission and Little Tokyo Dance Club converge in Spirit, Culture & Community. Worthy of Love LA and the Little Tokyo Business Association host birthday bashes for DTLA "unhoused" children. The children's favorite part of the program is the DANCING. This is what we do: "help others help others" and promote "another chance to dance."

Sharing "missing persons" alerts and updates with the hope of connecting loved ones back together is a vital tool in searching for the "missing" so we post on our social media pages as well as posting on our websites: www.skidrowkyo.org and www.ltdanceclub.org
Unfortunately thousands of people are reported missing. Tens of thousands of people (or more) are missing but not reported. Skid Row is always a FOCUS area for the search of the missing ((as well as places like Mac Arthur Park) as it's probably the densest concentration of MISSING PERSONS in DTLA...
Here is a fact, a large part of our HOMELESS population in Los Angeles are MISSING PERSONS. Problem with SEARCHING for a MISSING PERSONS in Skid Row (aside from obvious dangers - not a safe place) a very high percentage of the people on Skid Row or various encampments are HIDING OUT and don't want to be FOUND. So people SEARCHING will encounter many challenges. Our Skid Row-kyo Mission when on the ground in Skid Row employs non traditional trust building strategies and tactics when engaging with the unhoused community, I would highly recommend anyone that is planning on going to Skid Row or any neighborhood in LA really think it through and have a plan... Like mentioned before, a large percentage of people on the streets ARE HIDING OUT or are up to nefarious activities and DO NOT welcome attention...
Unfortunately a large portion of our unhoused community can be classified as voluntarily missing. We can only hope and pray the LOST will someday be reunited with family and loved ones. Or at a minimum "closure" to tragic realities when people go missing...
SHARE CARE AND BE THERE FOR THOSE IN NEED

The amazing people of SPN Networks wanted to do something special this holiday season for those less fortunate. See how they hand made hundreds of blankets and care packages that included socks, toothbrushes, toothpaste and a personalized card with a inspirational message for the recipient. Then they contacted us to distribute the gifts they made directly to our neighbors who call the sidewalks of skidrow home. This is what "WE" do, help others help others. Contact us if you need help.
In 2020 we started a new mission collecting food, grooming supplies, bedding, medicine, etc. for pets that live among the Homeless on Skid Row. Let us know if you would like to participate as a volunteer collecting and/or distribution of items. Be on the lookout for events where we are collecting items to be distributed to Pets that live among the homeless.
